摘要
从计数方式的历史源流来看，从才开始的数的概念出现到计数方式的出现，传统的计数经历了多种方式以及应用的发展。数字的计数方式在日常应用、学习教育、文化研究等不同方面也都呈现出不同的发展特性。然而，计数不同于数字，更不同于数字计算。从最早“多”与“少”概念的出现，到功能服务需求的出现，计数方式的出现早于阿拉伯数字的出现，也区别于后来的数字计算。因此，传统计数方式概念辨异与内涵是本次传统计数方式设计研究要探讨的问题。
同时，近些年来数字媒体技术的应用愈加广泛，计数方式的应用呈现出了不同的发展趋势，由古发展至今的传统计数方式的使用则逐渐减少，很少还能发现生活周围的人继续使用结绳、算筹、算盘等等以前古人发明沿用的计数方式。然而与当今数字技术发展下的计数方式相比，传统计数方式又蕴含着教育、文化、艺术等诸多方面的研究价值。因此如何从设计学科的视角结合不同的媒介手段，对传统计数方式的发展问题以及未来需求价值进行实践探索，也是本次传统计数方式所要研究的重点内容。

Thesis：Research and redesign of traditional counting in Digital Media Age
ABSTRACT
From the perspective of the counting history, from the emergence of the concept of number to the emergence of counting methods, the traditional counting experienced the development in a variety of ways. The counting methods show different development characteristics in the daily application, learning and education, cultural studies and other different aspects. However, counting is different from number and numerical calculation. From the emergence of "more" and "less" concept in the beginning, to the emergence of functional service demand, the appearance of traditional counting is earlier than Arabic numbers, and different from the subsequent numeral calculation as well. Therefore, the concept distinction and intension of traditional counting is a key problem to be discussed in this research.
Meanwhile, with the more and more widely application of digital media technology in this age, the way of counting application showed a different trend in development, those traditional counting which experienced a long history has been decreased in use, it’s hardly to find anyone around keep using those traditional counting like knotting, counting rods or abacus. However, compared with today’s counting application with digital technology, the traditional counting contains the research value of many aspects like education, culture, art and so on. So how to combine different medium from the design perspective to explore the development problem and future demand value of traditional counting is also the key content in this study.
